The perfect fusion of wood and resin. These blanks combine fully stabilized pieces of California Buckeye Burl, bonded under extreme pressure with swirly coral and turquoise colored Alumilite resin to form a unique piece of art just waiting to be turned. Buckeye Burl is known for its color shifting and intense burl patterns, plus since the wood has been professionally stabilized it holds up very well to the stress of turning on a lathe.
Extremely sharp tools should be used (preferably carbide tipped) and light cuts are a must. Reverse painting the holes or painting the tubes is highly recommended due to the semi-transparent nature of the resin. After turning and final sanding to shape, it is best to clean the blank with denatured alcohol before applying a final CA finish.
Each blank measures approximately 5" long by 13/16" square. Priced per blank.
